Stamford Museum

Stamford is a lovely town but it is small, so its museum is in the library. Here are some fine pieces they hold. This is a lovely image of their market. It continues today, taking up 3 streets and selling great local food from cockles to organic bread.

This is all that remains of the town’s Eleanor Cross, erected to mark the resting place of Eleanor of Castille’s body en route to London
