David Nash at Cardiff Museum

This is the most wonderful exhibition, and has been one of the museum’s most popular. Nash lives in the village of Blaenau Ffestiniog and the exhibition covers his long and varied career. Possibly my favourite is the film of a piece of wood that he made to look like a rock which he filmed floating down the river. It’s hypnotic watching it float and turn in the water, but the rest of the exhibition is mostly in wood, with pieces from the bark tower near the entranceĀ  to small carved items. Hard to think of an artist of similar range and power, but Anselm Kiefer comes close. Enjoy.
