Here’s some pics from my recent trip to Lincoln, a fascinating place with lots of fascinating old buildings. Here’s a church cross and the main town gate with a curious window.
A lovely old brick building at present abandoned and an old in with what seems to be an ornately carved post for a former inn sign.
A house at the top of the very steep climb up to the castle and cathedral, and an unusual bollard, reminiscent of those around the Whitechapel Bell Foundry in East London, so maybe there was a foundry here too.
The moated entrance to the castle, a lovely gothic window and a large bust of… George III?
